Our Classes
At ADI Dance Studios, we offer a wide variety of classes. From our tiniest dancers through to adults we have something for everyone. Take a look below to see what genres we have to offer and read a little bit of information about them all.
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles, and therefore highly recommended when starting your dance journey, the teachings of ballet can be used throughout all other genres. We utilised the RAD Ballet syllabus in all our ballet classes. These classes promote graceful and classical movements and poses whilst incorporating stretch and strengthening both in barre work as well as centre free movements.
Jazz
Our CSTD Jazz syllabus is one which combines elements of strength and flexibility whilst incorporating elements of ballet, lyrical, contemporary and commercial jazz. Jazz technique is essential for correct body placement, injury prevention, building strength and ensuring quality movements.
Tap
Tap is a rhythmical and technical style whereby the shoes create the ‘tapping’ sound. Tap aides in the development of a dancers musicality, tap shoes are your instrument and you are the musician using your instrument.
Pointe
Pointe is an extension technique of classical ballet, dancers use specialised pointe shoes which aide in the balance of standing tall on the tips of their toes. A beautiful genre showing great strength, confidence and poise.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop has become an incredibly popular genre of dancing. It’s an exciting, fun and unique style of street dance that combines many different freestyle moves and encourages expression and creativity.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a beautifully emotive and expressive style of dance, one which requires a deeper level of connection to fully portray its choreographical intent. Combining elements of ballet and jazz to infuse technique with emotion.
Contemporary
Contemporary is an interpretive, abstract style of dance. Its freedom of movement, emotion and expression fused with technique encourages dancers to think outside the box and feel as they move.
IDT (International Dance Technique)
International Dance Technique (IDT) is a syllabus designed to develop plyometric agility, strength, fitness, flexibility and strong jazz technique in dancers of all ages and abilities through the use of progressive stretch exercises, age appropriate conditioning exercises and combos.
PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique)
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students' technique. PBT focuses on core stability, weight placement, alignment and muscle memory for all forms of dance.
Body Conditioning
Body Conditioning classes are high intensity strength and flexibility focussed, to assist dancers in building their endurance and energy in all facets of technique training.
Jumps, Kicks & Turns
Jumps, Kicks & Turns is a technique orientated class with focus on correct placement and injury prevention to achieve various jumps, kicks and turns utilised in all forms of dancing.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre is part of our performing arts program, with a focus on the 3 elements - singing, acting and dancing. Students learn the art of auditions and theatre production by being part of many mini performances throughout the year.
Drama
Drama, another component in our performing arts program. This specialises in the aspects of performing, presenting, speaking, writing and acting. An incredible journey of self expression, confidence and courage for performing in front of an audience.
Acrobatics
Acrobatics is an incredibly popular art, we utilise two syllabi for our program - both Acrobatic Arts and Acrolink. The focus in acrobatics is flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. From our tiniest to our oldest, you progress at a pace suited to you and your skill level in a safe environment.
Contortion
Contortion is for our most bendy and flexible acrobats. Contortion is predominately a series of moves and poses which utilise extreme strength, balance and flexibility. As with acrobatics, contortionists will develop these skills as they build up their skill set.
Adult Classes
Our Adult Classes are an awesome way to do something for YOU, try something fun, make friends and push the boundaries of your comfort zone 💪💪 We welcome any level of ability in a positive and non judgemental environment 🖤🤍 We offer a variety of genres - Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet Barre, Aerial Silks and Aerial Lyra!
Aerial Silks
Aerial Silks is a genre in which aerialists use the fabric to wrap, suspend, drop, swing, and spiral their bodies into and out of various positions. Aerial silks requires strength, flexibility, courage, stamina but looks impressive when mastered.
Aerial Lyra
Aerial Lyra utilises specialised hoops which allow students to learn stunning movements, shapes, poses, spinning and swinging techniques. You’ll grow in strength, confidence and creativity while having fun every step of the way.
Come Dance With Me (Under 5's)
Come Dance with Me is a dance enrichment program specially designed for children 2.5 - 4.5 years. The focus of this program is to introduce physical literacy, coordination and creative movement. We explore stories, ideas and interpretations through music. Children learn to think creatively and discover how to express themselves through dance 🤍
Mini Acro (Under 5's)
In our Mini Acro classes our youngest acrobats learn the foundations of acrobatics. We work on balance, strength, gross motor skills, coordination and tumbling in a safe and fun environment prepping them for our beginner acro classes which are available to age 5+
Performance Team
Team Ignite is the next step on a dancers journey, a more elite extension to their regular training of which they are invited to be part of. Our performance team perform regularly at community events throughout the year and compete in various eisteddfods. Being part of a team requires commitment – to each other, in classes, in efforts and at performances and competitions.
