At ADI Dance Studios, we offer a wide variety of classes. From our tiniest dancers through to adults we have something for everyone. Take a look below to see what genres we have to offer and read a little bit of information about them all.
Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles, and therefore highly recommended when starting your dance journey, the teachings of ballet can be used throughout all other genres. We utilised the RAD Ballet syllabus in all our ballet classes. These classes promote graceful and classical movements and poses whilst incorporating stretch and strengthening both in barre work as well as centre free movements.
Our CSTD Jazz syllabus is one which combines elements of strength and flexibility whilst incorporating elements of ballet, lyrical, contemporary and commercial jazz. Jazz technique is essential for correct body placement, injury prevention, building strength and ensuring quality movements.
Tap is a rhythmical and technical style whereby the shoes create the ‘tapping’ sound. Tap aides in the development of a dancers musicality, tap shoes are your instrument and you are the musician using your instrument.
Pointe is an extension technique of classical ballet, dancers use specialised pointe shoes which aide in the balance of standing tall on the tips of their toes. A beautiful genre showing great strength, confidence and poise.
Hip Hop has become an incredibly popular genre of dancing. It’s an exciting, fun and unique style of street dance that combines many different freestyle moves and encourages expression and creativity.
Lyrical is a beautifully emotive and expressive style of dance, one which requires a deeper level of connection to fully portray its choreographical intent. Combining elements of ballet and jazz to infuse technique with emotion.
Contemporary is an interpretive, abstract style of dance. Its freedom of movement, emotion and expression fused with technique encourages dancers to think outside the box and feel as they move.
